Doodles and Doddles~ by TheUnoriginal Doodles and Doddles~ by TheUnoriginal
This spectacular piece of utter nonsense is a doodle that took me three classes to finish (geometry, history, and science!) I just love zentangle designs, and random doodles and doddles~ And CHECKERBOARD PATTERNS! Sweet mother of doodles I love checkerboard~ :la:

For FeedbackFrenzy2:

I would like constructive criticism on topics like balance and just in general to help make it look nicer. For this particular piece, cleanliness wasn't necessarily a goal. Any critique is appreciated, though! :D

Overall I think you've done a pretty good job in keeping it balanced. Each part of the doodle has a unique part of it that makes the picture more interesting. The shading where you use straight lines is rather messy looking. I've circled the bits which I think look the most messy. If you put your pen on an angle and only lightly press on the pen, then you can get a very gentle shading that appears quite neat and can be layered on top of itself.

Your picture with circles

The area my mind tends to focus on is the off-centered web. This could be partly because it's different from it's surrounds, and partly because all the checkered patterns appear to be moving towards that direction.

You've created a very interesting piece to look at through the variety of shapes and forms in the picture, hope this critique helps :)

I'm Rick, offering a critique for the #FeedbackFrenzy contest for this crazy doodle. I use "crazy" in the most positive way to describe the warped shapes and general chaotic feeling of the piece. It's fun! It gives me the impression of visiting a fair, a crazy and fun place. The more I explore it, the more interesting shapes and designs I find.

You asked specifically about balance, and frankly I get the impression it's going to tip to the right, so I wouldn't call it well-balanced. But I'm not so sure that matters here! The unbalance adds to the sense of craziness and fun.

I'm not sure about the triangles. Most of the checkboard patterns are warped squares, so the triangles don't really fit. But that's probably just me in "critique" mode looking for something wrong! I didn't even notice them at first. So I'll give the benefit of the doubt and call the triangles a reward for those who diligently study this fun doodle!

The only thing I don't particularly like about this is the scratchy area just right of center. It has such a different feel from the rest of the piece and is in such a prominent place that I feel it detracts from the overall work. But overall, I very much enjoy this. Thanks for participating in FeedbackFrenzy!

Hi there, I'm here for FeedbackFrenzy. How do you do?

I really love how this piece is simple (black and white), yet so detailed and complex. It certainly caught my eye as a thumbnail.

I think this is mostly balanced well. The only thing that makes me say 'mostly' is the big white patch on the left hand side. Perhaps moving the diamond shaped bit in the middle over to the left a bit more would help? Or maybe having a mostly white pattern on both sides would help balance it out.

I'm afraid I don't have much more to add because I think you've done a great job already. It almost reminds me of Alice falling down into wonderland, but that's probably the checker patterns and the half-circle bits that remind me of frills :P

I know what you mean! A lot of people don't comment, even though comments and feedback are so important for artists to get better, but well, No Problem! :D :)

Ah, wasting our precious time in (boring) class just for doodling... it's fun, isn't it? Anyway, this is really eye catching! :iconureshiiplz:
